Mort’s day jobs have almost never involved cooking. He has spent the last 40 years as a senior executive in the telecom, energy, digital media, ad tech and cannabis markets. His real passion is reading, learning, exploring, shopping, creating and sharing food with others. Toughest Table is a lifelong project about cooking for those you love and is his first book.
ANN JASPERSON

Ann and Mort have been friends for almost 50 years! Ann is an inventor, illustrator, designer, writer and cook. Her focus for the majority of her career has been inventing and licensing her own IP toys to toy companies. At the end of the day, nothing pleases Ann more that cooking for or with her husband Col and a life-long collection of those that love her cooking.
MICHAEL MOTLEY
Designer
Michael joined Mort and Ann on a project 5 years ago to create a house of brands for a west-coast based cannabis company. A life-long artist and celebrated art book designer, Michael has been a part of the Sante Fe art scene for over 30 years. A lover of great food, great restaurants and authentic ingredients, Michael treats food with the same reverence as great art.
KAREN WARTH

Having just retired from a long career in the telecommunications industry, Karen has the tough task of taking Mort’s written rants and turn them into usable recipes. Karen has worked for Mort in the past and yet is still his friend 35 years later. A life-long stickler for detail and a great at home cook for family and friends, Karen is uniquely qualified to decipher the “Mortian” text she was provided.
